In the end of 2019 I finally build my very own table, something I have wanted to do for a while. I wanted a stand up table so I can use it as a kitchen island as well as a dinner table that comfortably seats six people (and is able to squeeze in eighth).
I had two pieces to start with and i cut it as the pictures shows.

After cutting the pieces I used the plainer to make the top and bottom of all three parts smooth and parallel, I also plained the sides that later was glued together.
I then layed the pieces flat next to each other to decide how I wanted them and marked out lines for holes to the wooden plugs.

After drilling, putting in plugs and gluing the only thing left was to cut off the short sides and sand the surface. The pieces were then arranged as shown in the picture below.

For the legs I cut the parts to size using a cold saw followed by milling. I then welded them together with a TIG-welder while I had some wooden support clamped to prevent the metal from warping.

The very last step was to apply hard wax to get a durable and good looking finish. And then finally I had my very own home mate kitchen table.
