And so the travel begins. First stop was Amsterdam. Before visiting I thought the city was just about tourists smoking and visiting the r.l.d. but that view changed quickly. Never did I imagine the city was so beautiful with the tall narrow appartments next to the channels.

We tried to find places off the beaten track, which is not easy but I think we didn’t a good job (or we maybe were just so off season we didn’t see tourists at this places)
We took a ferry over the lake to the north part. It’s a old shipyard called N.D.S.M that is made into a cool beach looking place with a really cool vibe. There were lots of young people drinking bears and cocktails and some even took a swim in the lake. It had this day-beach party feel to it.

We also visited Westergasfabriek. It is in itself a really nice looking place with an old gasworks factory now made inte o venue with lots of restaurants and bars.
We were lucky enough to visit the same day as the had a super food track event going on. I have never seen so many food trucks all together in my whole life before and all of them were so unique. There were different live bands placed all over the area. It was almost impossible to decide what to eat, but we finally decided to have a kebab burger next to a dj with a saxophone.
